In September 2003 we went back to Switzerland for Ka's brother's wedding. As it was the first time K had been to Europe in summer for ages we took the chance to tour around with some of the wedding guests and play tourist for a few weeks.
Back in Zurich for the first time since Ka's move to Oz. It was great that we came back in summer, the weather was beautiful!
Ka's home town on the outskirts of Zurich and 'Hotel Hurlimann' where we always choose to stay.
Ka's brother's wedding. The happy bride and groom with Ka and K, Ka's sister, younger brother and his girlfriend.
Our tour around Switzerland. On top of Mt Pilatus just outside Lucerne. It is meant to have a spectacular view however we only saw fog, fog and more fog. A brief break allowed for a sneak peak of what we had missed.
The Lion Monument of Lucerne, the one Swiss shot all Aussies who have been to Switzerland are bound to have as it is a must stop on any Contikki tour.
Switzerland the land of cheese, chocolate and mountains. Here we are on top of the Santis high above the rest of Europe. From here you can see all the way to Germany and almost the coast of Oz.
Next we went to Germany to see Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. This is the castle Walt Disney modelled his Disneyland Castle on.
Drinking with some friends in Munich... Great timing for us as the Octoberfest was on and it was only September!! The locals were friendly and the drinks were large. We had a great time - I think...
Last stop was to visit Ka's Uncle in France. He took us on a tour of Roman buildings around Autun. Good help must be hard to find in France - it will look great when it's all finished...
All good things must come to an end. We had a great time but before long we had to pack our bags and return Down Under, back to work to save for our next trip.
